On new year's day 2008, SouthTech ’s Queensland branch become an entity in its own right - known as Ideal Recruitment.

Managing Director and proprietor John Logie said that by cutting ties with SouthTech’s New South Wales branch (which was bought by Candle Recruitment), Ideal Recruitment could consolidate its engineering and mining-oriented business and focus on delivering improved and tailored services to its stakeholders.

“Ideal Recruitment is privileged to be supported by predominantly long-term contractors and clients - due to our commitment to ensuring that we consistently match the right employee with the right employer," he said.

“While Ideal Recruitment will continue to provide this high level of service, we are also keen to look at improving our operation through such initiatives as incorporating more best practice systems and facilitating better and more frequent stakeholder communication.

“I am proud of what SouthTech has achieved in Queensland during the past 10 years; however I’m very excited about the opportunities that lay ahead for Ideal Recruitment.”
